The 100th anniversary of the Golf Club of Menaggio & Cadenabbia

51 old timer drivers got together at the Golf Club of Menaggio for the "Coppa Parco San Marco e Auto Storiche" the last week-end of April. The most beautiful old timers as well as the best golf teams were awarded a prize. This original event - with the sponsorship of the hotel Parco San Marco - is part of various activities organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the legendary golf club.
 
On April 29th 2007, at the golf club of Menaggio & Cadenabbia, who celebrates its 100th anniversary, a very original event took place: during the time where 20 Flights could prove their know-how on the 18 hole golf course, 51 experimented drivers aboard their old timers cruised along the narrow roads that lead to the club house. A nice intermediary stop had been organized on the romantic beach of the hotel Parco San Marco on Lake Lugano. The 4 star resort is a partner of the golf club of Menaggio during this year of celebrations, sponsoring various happenings but also at all times offering the hotel guests some golf specials in partnership with the Club of Menaggio.

As for the old timers, cars of five decades starting with the period 1920 - 1930 were rated by a jury of three persons. In the oldest category, it is a  Fiat 501 of 1921 which received the first price and whose proprietor is Danilo de Maria. The price awarded by the public was also given to this model. The golfers played based on the rule "Best of 4". The winners, the team Rusconio/Tentardini, scored 45 points Stablefort. As each golf team started in partnership with an old timer, a combined winner was identified. It was the team Rescali/Rescali/Van Son with the Bentley Blower (1930) who received the compliments of the president of the club, Vittorio Roncoroni, for the first place. Roncoroni and Raimondo Sartorio, director of the hotel Parco San Marco had the same opinion: The "Coppa Parco San Marco e Auto Storiche" should take place again in two years!
